I puchased this 1972 3.0 CS in summer of 2005. I am the third owner of this Pacific Northwest car. It had been sitting in a garage for the last 18 years or so when I bought the car. The twenty year old tires only had about 3k miles on them. The mileage at the time was ~102k. The car looked great from the outside and had a very nice interior. It had been repainted in 1982. It was, with the exception of the wheels, 100% stock. I replaced all the hoses, tires, belts, rebuilt carbs, replaced the clutch (it still had the orginal clutch plate worn down to the base metal), and a host of other mechanical repairs. The last major mechanical upgrade was the conversion to the MegaSquirt EFI. It was at the end of this process that the head gasket blew. This event led to the full on restoration, portions of which are described here. My methods may, or may not, be the "right way", but are within my limited welding/sheet metal skills.

Over the years I have learned a lot from other forums and restoration sites, so thought it only appropriate that I make my own contribution.
